Throwback? NOT! Wendy's Salad Bar is Back!!!

Just two weeks ago, while walking around a mall and thinking about what to eat, I was wishing we still had Wendy's old Salad Bar. I remember how my friends and I mastered the art of stacking veggies and macaroni on a tiny plate, just so we'd get our money's worth. Haha! Do you have the same memories of this particular fast food offering? Well, reminisce no more, because Wendy's just brought back their popular Salad Bar! Woohoo!

Woot! The Wendy's Salad Bar is back! Only P199!

Thursday last week, while sulking in the hospital because of RL's confinement, I came across Wendy's post on their Facebook Page about them bringing back a popular community choice - their Salad Bar!

But yeah, being stuck in the hospital meant I had to wait 'til we were back home. Was actually planning on getting my fill yesterday, but then the little boy got sick again, and had to go visit his pedia. Oh well. I will have my fill... soon!

Wendy's Salad Bar is available at selected Wendy's stores only:

Wendy's Boni-EDSA
Wendy's Glorietta 4 (Cinema Level)

Wendy's Greenfield Portal
Wendy's SM Centerpoint Sta. Mesa
Wendy's SM Megamall
Wendy's SM North EDSA Annex

Plates are round this time (used to be oval or rectangular in shape), and a one-time pile will set you back P199.00! I don't mind though. I love that this "healthier" fast food offering is back. I hope they include other branches (like Fairview Terraces) soon!

Girls, let's set our next meeting at Wendy's Glorietta 4, shall we?

#LYSOLGiveaway Winner!

Sorry, this announcement  for my LysolPH Giveaway comes a day late. We are still here in the hospital. The good news is... the pedia says if RL's platelet count goes up to 170K+ normal levels (right now, it is up to 130K from 117K) by tomorrow morning's CBC, we can go home! Woohoo!

Anyway, I had Yaya J lug my laptop to the hospital the other night. Didn't get to do much work though since RL was being really needy. Personal nurse ang peg, pero dapat naman talaga diba? So yes, back to the announcement. Sorry, late!

CONGRATULATIONS TO...

MICHELLE CU-MARTINEZ

Michelle, I will send you a DM on Twitter. Send me your shipping details. Or let me know if you will be in the ABS-CBN area - you live near lang diba? And maybe we can meet up. Hehe!

Again, congratulations! Thank you to everyone who joined this giveaway hosted by LysolPH!

Bagyo.

Binabagyo buhay ko. Literally. Aside from the fact that life has been pretty stressful, busy, toxic... (insert negative adjective here), it took a turn for the worse when just yesterday, the little boy was admitted to the hospital.

UPDATE: Latest test result confirms dengue. Sigh.

I am not one to complain about trials and every bad lemon life throws at me, but yesterday, I found myself asking the Lord why? This, after finishing the Book of Job, and learning that God allows storms in our lives for us to realize that they are not really to punish us, but to see how strong we stand during the storm.

But yes, Lord, why? I say this exactly one week before tuition payments are due at A's school - right when I had come up with a plan to get enough funds to meet the deadline, this happens. Plus, Lord, diba I have that bento catering order on Friday (thank goodness it got moved from today)? How will I get that done when my son's in the hospital, and I have no choice but to make all those boxes on my own with no help?

Sigh.

Life and lemons.

How hard is it exactly to find joy in suffering? Today, as dozens of people posted about the storm and how they don't have power in their areas, my little boy and I lie comfortably in an airconditioned room, complete with free wifi and hot food. When my daughter A texted from my mom's house about how the tree from across the street fell on my brother's SUV, I realized God kept my vehicle safe. I park out in the open (a perfect target for flying and falling debris), but last night, my car was kept safe inside the parking tower across the main hospital.

A week ago, while driving home, I realized how important it is to build one's life on solid rock. When I was a kid, I learned a Kids Praise! Song from Psalty that had this phrase...

"...you have to build your house upon The Rock,
Make a good foundation on a solid spot.
And the storms may come and go...
But the peace of God you will know."

So yeah, I am in the middle of this storm right now, but I sure am glad my life is standing on solid ground.

Healthy Homes = Happy Homes

Please bear with me. I am writing this in the middle of a very busy week. Catching a little air, so I am trying to blog a bit. My backlog is... eeps, long, and I need to tick some off my to-do list. It has been a crazy two months, and I promise I shall write about it on another post.

Mitch of LysolPH, talking about her brand.
At a not-so-recent #BetterMe event, the SoMoms and their guests got to learn more about Lysol Philippines and their commitment to making homes healthier homes. When I think of Lysol, I think of aerosol disinfectant sprays. When we were growing up, it was a necessity at home to have this handy. I remember that we each had a can per bedroom. Yes, Lysol sprays were germ-busting essentials!

Today, with RL prone to getting sick, Lysol is a part of our everyday lives. Cleaning isn't enough because you actually don't get rid of germs with ordinary cleaning. With Lysol, you know that germs are gone.

Lysol recently introduced two more products to their range of house-friendly cleaners - the Lysol Disinfectant Spray for Baby's Room and Lysol Liquid Hand Soap.

LYSOL DISINFECTANT SPRAY FOR BABY'S ROOM
I wish we had this when the kids were small. I was on the lookout for effective and safe disinfectant sprays for the kids' toys. Babies love putting their toys in their mouths. RL is no exception. The NEW! Lysol Disinfectant Spray for Baby's Room does not only come with a light, powdery scent that is safe to use in baby's room, it is also the perfect product to use for disinfecting toys. Just spray, wait, wipe or dry, and you're good to go. I love the smell of this new product! I am switching all my Lysol Sprays to this one!

Currently my favorite!

LYSOL LIQUID HAND SOAP
Lysol Liquid Hand Soap is Lysol's first-ever personal care product. Because it comes from a trusted brand known for cleaning and disinfecting, you are sure that this new product was developed with your health in mind.

Lysol Liquid Handsoap is available in 3 variants: Original, Skincare (shown) and Fresh.
It comes in two sizes: the 225ml Pump (SRP: P80) and the 200ml Pouch (SRP: P45).

Want to try these new products? I am having a... you guessed it... a giveaway! So easy to join, just follow the steps on the Rafflecopter widget below, and that's it. Deadline for entries is at 1159PM of Tuesday, July 15.

This Month at McDonald's... #HappinessInABox

Taking a quick break from work, because I haven't contributed to this blog in weeks! I have a lot of pending posts, but I am writing this because it's a quickie. Hehe.

I was driving past McDonald's today, when I noticed they changed their Happy Meal billboard announcement. Yay, Furby and TMNT for this month's Happy Meal! So I made a quick detour to get myself breakfast - only... they ran out of hotcakes early, so I opted for McNuggets (good thing they started cooking these early - didn't want the rice meal because I had brought lunch to work).

Furby and TMNT at McDonald's!

Was a tad disappointed that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toys didn't have the actual figurines. These are actually mini finger skateboards with TMNT designs (similar to the popular Tech Deck) and ramps. I'm sure Tech Deck fans will go crazy. So I opted for Furby.

To tell you honestly, I am not so much a Furby fan. My kids are into it, but I have my prejudices, given my family history with Furby toys. LOL! My brothers and I own two of the classic Furby toys. Both of which found their place deep inside our toy closet because they were just too noisy. Hahaha, seriously, they would wake up in the middle of the night and chat away. Pretty freaky too, given that you made sure they went to sleep inside the dark closet. Oh well. The new ones seem okay. And the ones at McDonald's are pretty safe. Haha!

Bright Eyes Furby in purple - A's fave color!

So yeah, I am excited to bring this home to A - who loves Furby. It would have been perfect if these were made out of plush. Hehehe.

Collect them all!

Catch Furby Boom! and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at McDonald's this month. Get a toy with every Happy Meal you buy!
