Happy Birthday to Me! (A Post-Birthday Giveaway)

It was my birthday last Friday, and to celebrate, I wanted my friends to send in something different, aside from the usual birthday greet. So on Facebook, I asked them to send me a fan sign photo. Or any creative photo made especially for me. To get them going, I offered them a prize (I realize now that I only have a handful of willing friends, LOL).

Out of 33 photo greets, the kids and I were supposed to choose just our top 3. But there were actually 5 photos that stood out, showing my friends' efforts to make me happy (haha, babaw lang ng kaligayahan ko).

Note: In order to join this contest, you must:

A) Be able to catch the JUNE 11, 2014 concert. Again, please join only if you can make it on June 11. That's next Wednesday. Tickets cannot be exchanged for another concert date. You must be able to claim your tickets from me on the concert day itself, between 4-6PM, at Araneta Coliseum. Failure to claim your tickets before 6PM (unless previously arranged) will forfeit your prize.

Passion 2014!

Passion Manila 2014 is happening this week, and this is mainly why I haven't had time for the blog (and other things). Yes, the worldwide student movement of the Passion Conferences (led by Pastor Louie Giglio) will once again be on Philippine soil, and it is two days away!!!

If you were there during Passion Manila 2008 and 2010, you should know how incredible an impact they had on thousands of students - lives were forever transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit on those days. After 3 long years, they are back! I can't wait for Thursday and Friday!

If you're going, don't forget to bring a clean, new towel to donate to Operation Blessing! They are collecting these for the benefit of High School students in the Visayas affected by Typhoon Yolanda.

Basic Papercutting Class!

We are hosting a Basic Papercutting Class on the 31st of August - that's a Saturday, from 2-5PM at House of Praise Panay. My friend L is teaching! If you are following me on Instagram, then you have probably seen some of my reposts on her work.

Anyway, I've been pretty curious about this papercutting stuff, so much so that I offered our store as a venue for her first class. I'm telling you, she's good! Way better than the others teaching papercutting today (and I am not telling you that because she's my friend, hehe).

And I have this thing for crafts, you know. Anything that involves detailed work is a challenge I am willing to try. So come and join us for a crafty afternoon on the 31st!

We've had numerous requests to bring in VeggieTales, but the International label handling the product for the Christian Market has lost their international distribution rights. Alas, no Christian products in the Philippines for this popular series for kids.

I've been trying to convince the label to sell us some toys for our stores. At least, give the kids an alternative to Barney and all those characters our there. After numerous attempts, they finally agreed!
