According to the DOST, there are at least 5 million malnourished children in the Philippines - a scary number when you think of the little ones not getting the right kind of food to eat.

Because of this, Knorr Philippines has pioneered the LUTONG NANAY Nutrition Program - promoting the importance of healthy meals prepared by moms for their kids. Mind you, this isn't just your normal food distribution program. It goes beyond that. It is more of empowering moms to actually provide healthy, nutritious and delicious meals at home.

Throwback? NOT! Wendy's Salad Bar is Back!!!

Just two weeks ago, while walking around a mall and thinking about what to eat, I was wishing we still had Wendy's old Salad Bar. I remember how my friends and I mastered the art of stacking veggies and macaroni on a tiny plate, just so we'd get our money's worth. Haha! Do you have the same memories of this particular fast food offering? Well, reminisce no more, because Wendy's just brought back their popular Salad Bar! Woohoo!

Thursday last week, while sulking in the hospital because of RL's confinement, I came across Wendy's post on their Facebook Page about them bringing back a popular community choice - their Salad Bar!

But yeah, being stuck in the hospital meant I had to wait 'til we were back home. Was actually planning on getting my fill yesterday, but then the little boy got sick again, and had to go visit his pedia. Oh well. I will have my fill... soon!

I don't know about you, but this is definitely great, great news for me. I stayed up all night for a bento party order, and I haven't had any sleep. Here I was thinking I'd be staying up again all the wee hours of the morning, but nay... so, YAY! 

And they've confirmed that they will be implementing EARLY BIRD TREATS from March 12 to April 1 - dates they've initially announced as their BIG DEALS SALE! 

S&R would also like to announce that during the MARCH BIG DEALS/ EARLY BIRD TREATS sale period, items that are placed on sale will already have the same discount as when Members' Treat happens. In other words, there will be no further discount for these items during Members' Treat. So better buy them early when you can. Last year, I missed out on a number of things because I thought they'd be priced lower during Members' Treat.

So yes, GREAT NEWS INDEED! Just when I was doing so great with my buying ban. LOL! I am really going to S&R with a strict shopping list and cash. But then on second thought, maybe not. I'm coded on Wednesdays, and it kinda sucks to stay overtime at the office just waiting for the clock to say it's fine to leave. I mean, I don't mind working extra, but it gets kinda scary working all alone when you know 95% of the building's occupants have left.

SuperLaunch!

My siblings and I grew up watching Superbook. In fact, I still have our dusty (and probably moldy) VHS tapes of the old series. It was my goal to have my own kids watch it, as I learned many a Bible story from this childhood favorite. I think A got to catch a few episodes when we lived in Ortigas Center. But like I said, the tapes are dusty and although you could still get them to play by rewinding and forwarding it on a tape rewinder, our trusty old VHS player no longer works, LOL. And yet, the tapes still sit on the shelf, as I don't have the heart to toss them in the bin.

House of Praise sells the DVD version of the old series, but they have very limited stocks, as these have been phased out by the local distributor. UPDATE: I just checked. They've sold out. Sorry.

But then, here's good news! Superbook has been REIMAGINED!

FINALLY! Wilson Phillips LIVE in Manila!

My friend Ganns has been wishing on multitudes of stars for Wilson Phillips to do a concert in Manila. Months ago, we started a petition-of-sorts on Facebook, attempting to convince boss Stan to bring them over.

My little petition on Facebook to get our friend Stan to take notice and maybe bring them in. Hehe.

But Boss didn't take notice and we went back to our wishful-thinking selves. Ganns would say he never lost hope. Yeah. Alas, in July, Random Minds Production announced they were bringing Wilson Phillips to Manila, and Ganns went crazy (an understatement, but you get the picture).

I grew up listening to Wilson Phillips. But unlike Ganns, who owns practically every CD they ever released, I only own three on CD. Please excuse the emancipated adult story, but I took on many responsibilities as a teenager and couldn't afford the luxury. But yes, I love, love, LOVE Wilson Phillips! This has got to be the best news of 2012!

When I went to the US for 12th grade, I took one CD with me. Just one CD - and it was Wilson Phillips' debut album. Like a crazed teenager, I memorized the songs and sang them with passion.

Today, KY looks at me like crazy when I scour the videoke song list for Wilson Phillips' songs. Not your generation, my dear, but mine.

Their song "Release Me" still holds meaning in my life today. I remember listening to this song and promising myself as a teenager that I've had enough of my boy problems. Alas, it still holds true.
