#iloveLKK | COOKING IS EASY WITH LEE KUM KEE!

I practically grew up with Lee Kum Kee.

Seriously, Lee Kum Kee products are staples in my household. It was the same when I was growing up. Like I said, I practically grew up with the brand. I have fond memories of my childhood and my favorite Lee Kum Kee product - the Fine Chili Sauce. I ate everything with it - Pork Chop, Inihaw, Chinese Lumpia, Noodles - even Cheese! Remember that Lee Kum Kee jingle? "...Bring out the Lee Kum Kee! Bring out the Lee Kum Kee..." Yup, I knew that song by heart. I still do.

Oh, and who could forget our favorite go-to sauce - the Chicken Marinade - with simple instructions on how to cook a chicken: 1) Brown chicken in pot with a little oil, 2) Pour Chicken Marinade, 3) Bring to Boil, 4) Simmer until cooked, and 5) Enjoy! So simple, even kids can cook with it.

Now if there's a household brand I believe in, it is this. Especially now that I am married and have kids of my own. Lee Kum Kee has always made life easier. For a full-time working mom like me, Lee Kum Kee has helped me create delicious dishes in so little time. I am telling you, their sauces are lifesavers!

(from L-R: Neva, Shiao Chew, me, Didi and Louren.

A few weeks ago, I got invited to a recipe swap hosted by Lee Kum Kee. There, I, along with other moms and future moms, learned more about Lee Kum Kee and its history in making quality sauces. Shiao Chew Chan, Lee Kum Kee's Southeast Asia Regional Category Manager for Soy, explained the tedious steps the brand has been taking to ensure their sauces are top-notch - even culturing their own oysters to make certain their Number One product, the Oyster Sauce, is of the best quality.

Shiao Chew re-telling LKK's history.

Lee Kum Kee is a family corporation spanning four generations. I can just imagine the heart that is put into this business for it to have lasted in the family this long!

Moms who demonstrated their cooking skills with LKK sauces that day: (from L-R: Eliza, Michelle, Suzi and Mish)

Anyway, during the recipe swap event, four moms shared their special recipes making use of Lee Kum Kee sauces. These were sooo good, and sooo easy to cook! This is seriously making me reconsider cooking special viands for my bentos, even in the morning before school. Lee Kum Kee makes cooking so easy!

Suzi Abrera's Thai-inspired Omelette. I love anything with eggs! And cilantro!

Michelle's Grilled Salmon. I love how you can also bake this. This was so good!
I am sure RL will love this. He loves fish!

Michelle's Tofu Saute. So simple, but so delicious. I wanted to eat the whole plate!

Another super easy recipe! Would you believe Eli doesn't like to cook? This was nommy!!!

Inspired by these moms, I whipped up a quick recipe for you to try out as well. I make this regularly for my kids. It is a mix of chicken and veggies. I make it just the way I remember my mom making it for us. This recipe is from my childhood. I do not have the exact measurements (I cook just like my grandma, no recipes! Just stories!), so feel free to taste your cooking and adjust as you see fit. The measurements, however, I place in my recipe below is an approximate of the amounts I used. It shouldn't be too salty. But my kids love this just the way it is.

Have you checked out Kikkoman on Facebook? I have and I just love their new app - the Kikkoman Gourmet-nator! So cool!

Once you've chosen your ingredients, click on the "Let's Gourmenate" button...
...and Voila! The app presents you with recipes for your selection!
The app is fairly new (it was launched recently) so there are still a limited number of recipes. But this will be updated in the coming weeks. Kikkoman is adding more and more recipes to this new Facebook app everyday!

I love Kikkoman! Who doesn't? It is a classic! Did you know that the Kikkoman recipe for excellent soy sauce has been around for over 300 years? Their soy sauce is naturally brewed like fine wine. No wonder it is the world's leading soy sauce brand! Most local soy sauce available in the market today are non-brewed soy sauce - made in a matter of hours from hydrolyzed vegetable protein and caramel coloring. Kikkoman, on the other hand, uses the same centuries-old recipe, making sure we get the best seasoning with every bottle we buy. You can actually taste AND smell the difference!

PORK HUMBA

1/4 cup - vinegar
1/4 cup - sugar
1/2 tbsp - KIKKOMAN Soy Sauce
1 piece - Bay leaf
1 tsp - whole black pepper corn
2 tbsp - oil
450 g - potato wedges
4 - whole eggs, boiled

Procedure:
1. In a sauce pan, over high heat, brown Kasim on all sides. 2. Add the rest of the ingredients. Bring to boil, then lower heat to a simmer. 3. Simmer until tender, about 20 minutes.

But Kikkoman doesn't make just Soy Sauce! They also make other sauces to enhance your meals, and help you make easy, gourmet dishes at home. Aside from their many soy sauce varieties, Kikkoman also makes Teriyaki Marinade, Teriyaki Sauce, Sukiyaki Sauce, Tempura and Noodle Sauce.

What's more, Kikkoman recently launched their Soy Sauce in the New! 100ml stand-up pouch! Everyone's favorite soy sauce is now made even more affordable to Filipino consumers. With this new pack size, you're sure to enjoy your favorite Kikkoman dish everyday!
